Frequently asked questions
What do you mean by "no servers"?
Literally no servers. Mumbl doesn't have a cloud backend for transcription. The AI model runs on your computer. We couldn't access your audio even if we wanted to — there's nowhere for it to go.
What about software updates?
App updates are downloaded through standard update channels (like any desktop app). But the transcription process itself is 100% local — no audio data is ever involved in updates or any network communication.
Why should I care about voice data privacy?
Your voice is a permanent biometric identifier. Unlike a compromised password, you can't change your voice. Voice data can be used for authentication bypass, identity fraud, and deepfake generation. Keeping it off other people's servers is the only real protection.
